50 Most Famous TV Shows From Every US State
We all know that a lot of what we see on our screens is make-believe, but that extends further than just melodramatic plots and bad special effects. The stories of actors being friends in real life, or even finding love on set are heartwarming, but the opposite is quite often true as well. Celebrity feuds are sometimes kept secret, especially if it's between the main cast of a popular show or movie. Sometimes the hatred can get vicious and can devolve into actual physical fights!
“Dirty Dancing” may have been one of the biggest hits of the year and the movie that shot Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey into the limelight, but the romance on set was all staged. When Swayze’s autobiography hit the shelves, he revealed that his costar had frequent mood swings that would inconvenience the cast and crew for hours.
Putting two strong personalities together can be a challenge, and the set of “Lawless” definitely got challenging. Though both Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf had incredible performances in the film and their acting was critically acclaimed, the two did not get along. Things got so bad that the two possibly got into a physical fight off-camera.
Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio starred in the 90s “Romeo and Juliet” as teenagers. Maybe you can chalk it up to youthful hijinks, but Danes apparently found DiCaprio’s pranks on the cast and crew annoying and called him “immature”. DiCaprio, in turn, found Dane’s behavior uptight and though it’s been three decades, the two still don’t get along.
“Castle" was a TV show that had and still has many fans. What a lot of people don’t know is that a big reason why the show was canceled was that the two main leads just could not get along. Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic didn’t speak to each other for years apart from their lines, and despite couples therapy, they couldn’t reconcile and the show had to be canceled.
Iconic shows often have a lot of drama behind the scenes, and shows don’t get more iconic than “Sex and the City”. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall played best friend’s on the show but they ended up hating each other in real life. Catrall was unhappy when she found out that parker was making almost double what she did per episode and Parker did not enjoy that Catrall’s character was becoming the fan-favorite.
It’s not really surprising that Charlie Sheen has issues with a lot of people. One might have thought that after being axed from “Two and a Half Men” he would have calmed down a little, but nope. He fired his "Anger Management" costar Selma Blair after she accused him of being unprofessional and sent her profane text messages.
William Shatner has a huge ego, that’s a pretty well-known bit of information. He feuded with almost everybody on “Star Trek” but his issues with George Takei are still ongoing. The two have thrown shade at each other in their autobiographies and the drama escalated when Shatner apparently did not receive an invite to Takei’s wedding in 2008.
It might seem crazy to start a public feud with a man as popular as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, but that’s exactly what his “Fast and Furious” franchise costar Tyrese Gibson did. Gibson apparently felt that it was Johnson’s fault that the ninth movie in the franchise was postponed and took his complaints to social media.
Another case of onscreen best friends not getting on in real life, Naya Rivera and Lea Michelle may have looked thick as thieves on the show “Glee”, but behind the scenes there was drama. After Rivera got a more prominent role on the show, their friendship started deteriorating. In Rivera’s memoir, she says that Michelle didn’t like sharing the spotlight and always assumed the worst about Rivera.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” was an action movie masterpiece and the tension and storyline between Charlize Theron’s character and Tom Hardy’s was a huge part of it. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron could use some of the tension in their real-life relationship while acting because the two despised each other through the filming. Everyone on the cast has been pretty open about the feud and there don’t seem to be hard feelings, though it’s unlikely they’ll be friends anytime soon.
Though Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum had a mentor-mentee relationship in the movie “Magic Mike”, there were several reasons why Tatum didn’t like Pettyfer. By his own admission, Pettyfer kept to himself on set because he was self-conscious, but it may have come across as standoffish. Later, he rented an apartment from a friend of Tatum’s but moved out without paying rent because he was distracted by a death in the family. Honest mistakes, but enough to make Tatum dislike him.
Teri Hatcher is the desperate housewife that did not get along with anyone else on the cast. Apparently, Hatcher always considered herself the star of the show and acted that way. There was drama over a vanity fair shoot where Hatcher acted like a diva, and it became well known that there was a feud on set.
Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan were child stars in the 90s and good friends. That is until 2003 when Aaron Carter left his “Lizzy McGuire” costar Duff for Lindsay Lohan. Eventually, Carter went back to Duff and Lohan accused her of stealing her boyfriend. This may all sound like childish drama, but the two still aren’t friends decades later.
Best friends on the show “The Good Wife”, actresses Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi were anything but in real life. When Panjabi left the show in the middle of Season six, it had been three seasons since the two had acted together! Even Panjabi’s last episode, in which the two were supposed to appear together was shot using split screens.
C-3PO and R2-D2 might get on each other’s nerves, but it's always been clear over the many movies they’ve been in together that the two droids care about each other. That wasn’t true of the actors who played the droids though, Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) never got along, Baker claiming Daniels was cold and standoffish and Daniels making public fun of R2-D2 saying that the character doesn’t speak and might as well be a bucket.
Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been feuding since West infamously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Though they seemingly made up and even planned to release music together, West’s song “Famous” in 2016 threw more shade at Swift and the rivalry is still hot and cold.
Elton John and Madonna are two of the biggest names in music ever. They have had a love-hate relationship over the years which can be expected considering how famous and outspoken they both are. An example of their feud was at the 2012 Golden Globes where Elton John said Madonna had no chance of winning “Best Original Song” to which Madonna responded with “Those are fighting words”. Madonna won the award later that evening.
Joan Rivers and Johnny Carson were friends in the 80s with her guest-hosting “The Tonight Show” and eventually becoming a permanent guest host. After her success on the show, Fox offered Rivers her own show which she accepted, but apparently, Carson was furious at the decision. Carson says Joan Rivers never spoke to him about it while Rivers says that he was the first person she called and he just stopped talking to her.
